A Wonderful Day by the Ewaso Nyiro with the Children

There’s something truly special about spending a day outdoors with children, and our recent walk to the Ewaso Nyiro turned out to be one of those unforgettable adventures. With the sun shining warmly above us and excitement in the air, we set off together, ready for whatever the day might bring.

The walk itself was full of laughter and little discoveries. The children ran ahead, pointing out birds, interesting rocks, and the gentle flow of the river as it came into view. Their energy was infectious—it turned a simple walk into a lively exploration.

When we finally reached the Ewaso Nyiro, the sparkling water was too inviting to resist. Shoes were quickly kicked off, and before long, the children were splashing and swimming, their laughter echoing along the riverbank. It was one of those carefree moments where time seems to slow down, and joy takes center stage.

After drying off, we settled down for a picnic. Spread out under the shade, we shared food, stories, and plenty of giggles. There’s something about eating outdoors that makes everything taste better, especially when surrounded by happy faces.

To make the day even more special, we bought some fresh fish nearby. It felt like a small but meaningful addition to the experience—supporting local sellers while giving the children a glimpse into everyday life along the river.

As the day came to an end, we headed back feeling content, a little tired, and full of memories. It wasn’t just a walk—it was a day of connection, laughter, and simple pleasures.

A truly wonderful day for the children… and for all of us.
