Negotiating for the timber

There’s something deeply satisfying about a day spent gathering the raw pieces of a bigger purpose and that’s exactly what we found at the timber yard and hardware store in Archers Post. Sourcing materials to weld new bunk beds for the children, swings for laughter filled days, clothesline poles so their clothes no longer hang on the sharp wire fence that rips them, and benches for the church where they gather in faith and community.

What may seem ordinary to many is life changing here.

Little Mary was especially excited to come along, it's ’s not something she usually gets to do. She quietly took it all in, watching the world outside the children’s home with wide, curious eyes. There was so much wonder in the simplest things.

By the end of the day, our truck was full, our feet were tired, and our hearts were even fuller. What started as a practical errand turned into a meaningful experience, one filled with teamwork, laughter, and purpose.

Now, the real work begins. But thanks to a day well spent in Archers Post, we’re one step closer to building not just desks, beds, and benches. But opportunities, comfort, and community.
