First sunday walk in Samburu

A Sunday Walk In Samburu
Sunday was another eye-opening day as we walked to church with the children across the dry Samburu landscape. The realities of poverty were clear. The small church had only one bench and those who were able to bring their own seats.
Yet the children looked wonderful in their newly donated clothes, beaming with pride and joy. Before praise and worship, they sprinkled water on the dusty ground so they could dance freely without raising clouds of dust. Their singing and dancing were full of life and faith.
Back at the children’s home, the builder continued work on the kitchen extension, a hopeful sign of growth and provision.
Later, we walked through the savanna to the Ewaso Nyiro River for a refreshing swim and even bought fresh fish from local fishermen.
It was a simple but beautiful day, one that showed both the challenges and the incredible resilience, faith, and joy within the Samburu community.
